Pricing
How much does a handyman cost in Chicago?
Helping Hand Studio charges $100/hour for jobs of 1–4 hours, $90/hour for half-day bookings of 4–6 hours, and $80/hour for full-day bookings of 8–10 hours. A two-hour minimum applies. See pricing.
Is there a minimum charge?
Yes. A two-hour minimum applies to hourly service visits. Bundling several small tasks into one visit is the best way to get full value from it.
What do half-day and full-day mean?
A half-day booking is 4–6 hours of work at $90/hour. A full-day booking is 8–10 hours at $80/hour. Longer bookings lower the hourly rate.
When is a job priced as a fixed project instead of hourly?
Larger projects such as media walls, custom installations and remodels are priced as fixed-cost projects, not hourly. Bathroom and small remodeling projects are always quoted as a fixed project.
Can the price change after work starts?
If a repair turns into a larger project, we will confirm the updated scope and price with you before proceeding.

Is the estimate free?
Yes. Estimates are free, and you get a clear upfront quote before any work is scheduled.
Can I get an estimate over the phone?
Yes. Call or text (630) 426-3003, or use the estimate form. For many jobs, a short description of the work is enough to give you an initial pricing direction before scheduling.
Scheduling
How quickly do you respond?
We respond within 15 minutes during business hours.
What are your business hours?
Monday to Saturday, 8AM – 6PM. Closed on Sunday.
How do I book a job?
Call or text (630) 426-3003 about the project. We review the details, send a clear upfront quote, and schedule the work once you approve it.

What areas do you serve?
Chicago and 46 suburbs across Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall and Will counties, including Naperville, Schaumburg, Wheaton, Aurora and Evanston. See all service areas.

Multiple tasks
Can you do several small jobs in one visit?
Yes. Send us your list and we can take care of several tasks in a single visit, so you spend less time coordinating different contractors. See handyman services & small repairs.
Projects
What kinds of projects do you take?
Bathroom remodeling, small remodeling, painting, drywall and plaster repair, doors, trim and baseboard, home installations such as TV mounting, and handyman repairs. See all services.
Is there work you do not do?
New wiring, electrical circuits and panels, gas lines and plumbing relocation require licensed trades and are not part of our service. If a task falls outside our scope, we will tell you upfront.
Materials
Do you help choose paint and buy materials?
Yes. We can help select the right color, sheen and product, recommend materials, and purchase the paint and standard project supplies for you. See painting.
Do you offer low-odor paint?
Yes. For interior projects we can use premium low-VOC, zero-VOC and low-odor paint options when appropriate for the project.
Warranty
Do you guarantee your work?
Yes. Remodels come with a 1-year workmanship warranty, and every handyman job has a free 30-day callback: if it's not right, we're back.
Working in your home
Are you insured?
Yes. Helping Hand Studio is fully insured on every project.
Do you use subcontractors?
No. There are no subcontractors on your property: the same team quotes, works, and follows up.
Do you clean up after the job?
Yes. Drop cloths go down before we start. Dust is wiped, floors swept and packaging taken out.
